“Soma” means living body. So, Somatic Counselling helps you navigate a mutually beneficial relationship between your body and your mind. As the body communicates to your mind, this approach helps you learn how to translate what it is trying to tell you. You can actually physically FEEL the emotions as they "are encoded" in certain parts of your body. Even the cellular structure of your body is encoded with feeling memory, right down to the core level of your DNA. Somatic therapy helps to release these codes in order to enhance your health, and optimise the harmony within your anatomy.
All emotions are Energy in Motion, and so the body stores your reactions to stress on a very visceral level.
